Overtime pay

Enter a rate and the overtime hours with a multiplier to see the pay.

Everything is calculated in your browser. Nothing you type is sent or stored.

How it works

  1. Pick the pay basis

Use an hourly rate, or a monthly salary and the standard hours in a month.

  2. Enter hours and multipliers

For weekday, weekend and holiday overtime, enter the hours and the multiplier your policy or contract sets.

  3. Choose a currency

The currency only formats the result. It starts at USD and changes nothing in the math.

  4. Read the breakdown

Pay = hours × base hourly rate × multiplier, per band, then added up.

This is an estimate for planning. Rates, caps and rules differ by country, contract and company policy, so enter your own values and check the result against your policy and local rules.

Frequently asked questions

How is overtime pay calculated?
Overtime hours × base hourly rate × the multiplier for that kind of overtime. Add the bands together for the total.
How do I get an hourly rate from a monthly salary?
Divide the monthly salary by the standard hours in a month, as set by your policy or contract.
Does the multiplier include normal pay?
Here it does: pay is hours × rate × multiplier. If your policy pays only a premium on top of normal pay, enter the premium as the multiplier (for example 0.5).
Does it apply my country’s overtime rules?
No. Multipliers and hours are the ones you enter, so no rate or cap is assumed. Check the result against local rules and your contract.
